Corn Grits 101 is a coarse-milled maize product with a granulation of approximately 1.0-1.2 mm, produced from cleaned, degermed yellow corn. It is widely used in the manufacture of breakfast cereals, snack pellets, brewing adjuncts and extruded food products. Radiance Overseas supplies Corn Grits 101 directly from FSSAI-certified processing units in India's major corn-producing regions, ensuring competitive pricing and consistent batch-to-batch uniformity for bulk importers and food manufacturers.
Corn Grits 101 and Corn Grits 108 are both milled from degermed yellow corn; the difference is granulation. 101 is the coarse grade at about 1.0-1.2 mm and 108 is the fine grade at about 0.8-1.0 mm, and that decides where each one is used. Both belong to the Corn (Maize) range. Values below are as published on the two pages.

Corn grits are the dry-milled, degermed endosperm of maize, so granulation and residual oil are the two numbers that decide how a lot behaves. Corn Grits 101 is the coarse grade, at about 1.0-1.2 mm on this page, against about 0.8-1.0 mm for Corn Grits 108. Both list the same 0.5-1% fat, so for 101 the practical question is how that coarser particle size is handled in the process.
Brewing. A study presented at the 2016 World Brewing Congress by Jiangnan University compared a rough and a fine degermed grit as a 30% adjunct. Fermentation results were close to rice, but fatty acid content rose with particle size (about 22 mg/100 g for the rough sample against about 15 mg/100 g for the fine one) and increased during storage. The authors concluded fatty acids should be strictly controlled when grits are used as an adjunct. A brewer taking the coarse 101 should therefore ask for fat and fatty acid results on the COA and plan to use the lot while fresh.
Snacks and cereals. Extruder and pellet lines are tuned to a granulation, and a coarser grit needs more hydration and cooking time than a fine one. Send us your line's target range and we confirm it against the COA before you commit; 101 is not a substitute for a fine grit without a trial.
Moisture. Codex Standard 155-1985 for degermed maize meal and grits sets 15.0% m/m maximum and asks for lower limits where climate, transport time or storage call for it. Corn Grits 101 is listed at up to 14%. The same Codex standard states that it does not cover meal for use as a brewing adjunct, so brewers normally agree their own specification by contract. Mycotoxin limits for food use are set by the destination market, for example Regulation (EU) 2023/915 in the European Union, and should be written into the purchase terms. Minimum order is 1 × 20ft FCL.

Research presented at the 2016 World Brewing Congress (Jiangnan University) found that the fatty acid content of degermed corn grits rose with particle size and increased further in storage, and that it should be strictly controlled when grits are used as a brewing adjunct. Corn Grits 101 is the coarse grade at about 1.0-1.2 mm, so brewers should request fat and fatty acid results on the COA and use the lot while fresh.
